Our Vision

We believe that Hall Association should be the leading force in making Cal feel like home. Perhaps boba socials? Maybe subsidized laundry (or at least a dryer that works)? How about a zipline from Foothill to The Campanile? Even if not all of these desires are objectively feasible, we hear you. As President, we will not only hear what you want – we promise to take action. Truly bummed out that the walk from Hearst Mining Circle to Foothill is 242 steps (Yes, we counted)? No worries, you will be rewarded upon returning to Foothill with a refreshing cup of boba or bowl of ice cream.

As members of the Cal community, it is our vision to create an enjoyable atmosphere for everyone. Stress will inevitably affect us all as the year progresses and we want to be a permanent source of comfort and joy, especially when you need it most.

Whether you wish to spend your time going wild at parties or studiously going at it with that calculus problem, living at Hillside should never feel like a barrier to your goals. Our time at Hillside is limited, and the opportunities we have here to develop meaningful relationships with our peers, advisors, and faculty are to be treasured. It is our belief that only with the right environment can individuals truly thrive, and we intend to make your time at Hillside one for the books. As big as Cal is, your voice does matter.

Let us know what you desire, and it’ll be fire 🔥.

Nathan Wong

In high school, Nathan piloted a research outreach initiative, inviting hundreds of high school students to participate in scientific research 🔬. As the president of his school’s research club, Nathan used his position to bring people together from various sectors of industry and academia.

He’s also a huge fan of food! Having managing 200+ orders from top 🍕 🍔 (and boba!) places such as Tea One and Cream, together, we will ensure that Hillside will not ever be hungry again.

Reputable companies, such as Century 21 Real Estate, have also attested to Nathan’s creativity in initiating and completing committee projects. In one case, Nathan had increased the agent’s social media following by more than 200 visits/day.

Timothy Lee

Having moved 7 times in the last 6 years, he’s adapted to life from places such as Fremont, California to Beijing, China 🇨🇳.

In high school, he helped expand and grow HEARTS ❤️ Nonprofit, an organization dedicated to providing education and basic necessities to underprivileged children around the world. As the VP of Finance and later the President of HEARTS, he helped raise more than $7500 💰, increase the number of children sponsored internationally by 104% (55 to 112), and even organized and hosted two international conferences in China. He loves working to improve the community and with this track record, have some sympathy, and vote for Timothy!

Aside from HEARTS, he’s also served as the VP of Civic Consciousness at Silicon Valley DECA, a career and technical organization’s branch with over 2000 members. There, he spearheaded efforts to bring career technical education courses in local schools, organized overnight district conferences, and founded the CA DECA Parent and Student Alliance to better connect parents with the DECA community. He’s always willing to listen and we hope you’re also willing to share ❤
